| Johnson Table Breeding Cages |
| Table Cages are particularly versatile and elegant for insect display. They provide excellent viewing and easy access for individual insects, insect food and photography. Suitable for indoor, outdoor, laboratory or greenhouse use, they can be very easily dismantled for flat storage. | |
| Use includes:- | |
| - Flight, demonstration, and pairing of many insects, using potted or cut plant nectar sources or artificial feeders. | |
| - Egg laying on potted or cut plants placed inside the cage. Optionally, potted plants then may be taken out and covered with a pot cage. | |
| - Rearing of all insect development stages, with cut or potted plants. |

| These versatile cages for larvae and flying insects can be used indoors and outdoors. The high all round visibility, and gently rounded corners to avoid insects being trapped, make these good flight cages. |
| - Base This is either made from WBP grade 6mm plywood, with the top and sides water resistant coated in black. A popular alternative base is made of solid, waterproof, engineered plastic. | |
| - Frame The PVC coated metal frame and connectors are all weather resistant. | |
| - Cover The separate and replaceable black net
cover has good transparency,
yet is UV resistant, tear resistant, and fine enough to prevent the entrance of parasites and ants.
All items can be washed and sterilised against insect disease. The 'big door' sweeping zip entry has 2 sliders, which can be opened slightly at any point, so that a hand and wrist can be inserted with minimal risk of insect escape. Opening the zip fully makes the side completely open, for attending to larvae, changing plants and cleaning. For both cages, the 'n' shape zip is normally stocked, and the 'u' shape is available to special order A simple plain cover without zip is also available, to special order, where access to the cage is made by lifting the lower skirt from underneath. This hidden access feature makes a useful cover for public display purposes. |

| - Ease of Operation Assembles without tools in around 7 minutes. Dismantles flat in 3 minutes, so saving space when not in use. Designed for repeated assembly and dismantling. Cover, frame and base can all be washed or sterilised against insect diseases. | |
