Hanging Cages

About Our CagesInsectopia traditional hanging flight cages are used for emerging, flying, demonstrating, pairing and insect egg-laying, especially with lepidoptera. Because they are lightweight and portable these cages are useful also for travel, offering temporary accommodation for a wide range of insects on cut plants placed inside the cage.
The net is sewn with no internal projecting seams, and the cages are specially designed to hang with near vertical sides with minimum 'necking', which would otherwise tend to trap insects at the upper corners. Our hanging cages are fitted with a vertical entry single-slider side zip. The cage top and bottom rings are made of rust resistant metal for durability.
Optional support rods are also available for our cages, enabling them to be converted to a free-standing cage where hanging may be inconvenient, or for inspection. Where rods are used, cages may be be placed on the floor or a table - this allows plant pots, jars or artificial feeders to be placed in the cage. |
